ALBERT Pagara and Jeo Santisima will headline the latest edition of the Pinoy Pride series on Aug. 17, 2019 in Ormoc City.
Pagara locks horns with heavy-hitting Thai Ratchanon Sawangsoda in the main event of Pinoy Pride 46 at the Ormoc City Superdome, while Santisima faces Indonesian Alvius Maufani.
The 25-year-old Pagara, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Inter-Continental super bantamweight king, is a winner of five straight fights since suffering his first career loss --an eighth round knockout at the hands of Cesar Juarez in 2016. Pagara last fought in Nov. 24, 2018 with a first round knockout win over George Krampah at the IEC Convention Center.
Pagara has risen back up to the ranks and is now rated No. 3 in the WBO, wherein Emmanuel Navarrete is the current titleholder. Filipinos Marlon Tapales and Juan Miguel Elorde are ranked above him at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
The 28-year-old Sawangsoda, also known as Lucky Tor Buamas, is currently on a two-fight losing slump following knockout losses to Elorde and one-time world title challenger Sho Ishida.
He’s a former World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Silver super flyweight champion, which he won with a first round stoppage of club fighter Rasmanudin. EKA
