THE Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) Monthly Tournament will resume on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Barracks Chess Club in Robinsons Galleria Cebu. The Cepca woodpushers will be contending for both the June and July Monthly titles since the group wasn’t able to hold a monthly tournament last month. The top two players will win the June and July monthly crowns and a slot to the much-anticipated 2019 Cepca Grand Finals set in December. The event rated by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) will be a 5-round rapid chess tournament. It will follow a handicapping time of control of three minutes for Class A players, 10 minutes for Class B and 15 minutes for Class C. The ranking will be based on the recent NCFP rapid ratings. The champion will win P1,500 cash prize, while P1,000, P700, P500 and P300 for the second to fifth places. RSC
