THE Deparment of Trade and Industry (DTI) 7 targets revenue reaching P40 million from the holding of the 32nd Sandugo Trade Expo that will run from July 24 to 28, 2019.

DTI 7 Regional Director Asteria Caberte said the regional marketing event to be held at the Island City Mall, Tagbilaran City, Bohol will generate income for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“It’s one of those trade fairs that can generate much needed revenues for our MSMEs,” she said.

In the 2018 trade expo, revenue reached P33 million from 170 exhibitors.

Anchored on the theme: “Beyond Expectation @32,” the 2019 activity will feature highquality furniture and furnishings, gifts and decors, wearables and home style, fashion accessories and processed food from Central Visayas and neighboring regions such as Region 3, 4A,4B,6, 8, 10, 11, 13 and the National Capital Region.

“Bohol as a venue is a very good market because it’s a key tourist destination and there are a lot of tourist resorts and facilities that do sourcing from trade fairs,” she said.

The Kapatid Mentor Micro Enterprise and Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program beneficiaries will also participate in the fair.

Caberte said DTI’s product development under the One Town One Product Next Gen was instrumental in helping MSMEs improve the branding and marketing of their products.

“It’s proven that when our MSMEs really prepare before they participate in a trade fair, they would be flocked by buyers and would surely earn a lot,” she said.

Caberte said they prioritized the agency’s key products like cacao, coffee, wearables and home style, processed fruits and nuts, rubber and coco coir.

For this year, the event will be participated by 200 exhibitors, 90 percent of them coming from Central Visayas and 10 percent from other regions. A special setting has been prepared for chocolate/tablea makers in Bohol and another special setting to be mounted for wearables and homestyle manufacturers in the region.

DTI 7 expects national and international buyers to visit the fair. These include exporters, buying agents, wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers and subcontractors. JOB
