Rosales loses second straight fight in US

JESSIE Cris Rosales suffered another loss in the US after a split decision loss to unbeaten Tyler McCreary at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

“I lost via split decision but he got booed by the crowd. They thought that I won that fight,” the 27-year-old Rosales told SunStar Cebu.

Rosales got the nod of only one judge with a score of 77-75, while the two other judges saw McCreary winning with scores of 77-75 and 78-74.

“He got wobbled in the fourth round but I wasn’t able to finish him off,” said Rosales. Rosales has lost back-to-back contests in the US and dropped to 22-3-1 with 10 knockouts.

McCreary improved to 16-0-1 with seven knockouts. “I’ll go home to the Philippines first and return here to train for my next fight,” he said.

Rosales will return to action in October. (EKA)
