MONTEBELLO Villa Hotel has long been a familiar institution, being around for almost five decades. It was built in 1972, and granted some sprucing up had been done over the years, it still feels like time is in a standstill as one is greeted with that signature Spanish influence and old-world charm. Tourists have enjoyed it and so have the locals, for those moments when a quick escape from the hustle and bustle is desired or for special occasions that require an intimate or grand celebration.
Its newly refurbished rooms for instance, though bearing a modern look, still retain that classic vibe. Within the last five years, most of its rooms have been given a makeover, 25 of which have been recently refurbished and made available this year. These are the Deluxe with Balcony rooms found on the fourth wing of Montebello. Much like the other rooms, it boasts spacious dwellings, amenities that seamlessly fuse classic and modern elements. Step out into the balcony and one is greeted with the view of the bougainvillea garden and the greenery that makes the hotel feel like a second home.
“We look forward to guests having their staycation at the brand new rooms that feature the grandeur of a distinct old-world charm that immediately envelopes you once you enter them. The newest rooms feature modern amenities and international-standard facilities designed to meet the needs of the meticulous travelers who are with us for leisure or business,” shared the hotel’s marketing officer, Jam C. Erauda, who added that renovations began back in 2013 starting off with the Premier Garden Rooms and Suites and Heritage Rooms and Suites in 2018, and now the Deluxe with Balcony rooms
“This is only a speck of the improvements that are to be expected from the hotel in the coming years.”
Cebu City continues to grow progressively, which is both amazing and at times unrecognizable to most who’ve grown up here. Still, there’s comfort in knowing that the places one has grown up with are still just around the corner—with just the right amount of newness to them.
