Revisiting Twistea

IT HAS been months since my last visit at the Twistea Room Cafe. Recently, some friends invited us over to have lunch here at the cafe, which is located at one of the major food districts in Davao City, Marfori.

Together with me were fellow SunStar Davao teammates -- Ace, Jennie, and Macky.

For lunch here I had the Caribbean Chicken with Mango Coconut Salsa. On the side, I ordered their Beer Bread.

The Carribean Chicken with Mango Coconut Salsa also comes with rice and a side of Beer Bread. This was a pretty good dish. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I love how the Mango Coconut Salsa complements the savoury component of the dish and adds brightness to it.

The Beer Bread is a personal favorite of mine. It may taste odd to some but I find it to be delicious.

Ace ordered the Asian Veggie Rice Bowl, which he enjoyed. The dish is seasoned brown rice topped with shitake mushrooms, carrots, green peas, and sesame seeds.

Jennie had the Chicken Parmesan with Penne. The dish is breaded chicken topped with melted cheese sitting on a bed of baked penne pasta with red sauce. I took a bite of the chicken and just love how wonderfully cooked it was. The pasta was also properly cooked and the sauce was packed with flavor.

Macky ordered the Seafood Linguini, which is linguini in tomato sauce with shrimp, mussels, and calamari.

Lunch was definitely filling. The great thing about Twistea Room Cafe is the serving size of their food, which is good for two persons already. Also, flavor wise, the food here is quite good. (RJL)
