Drug dealer nabbed, another escapes

AN ALLEGED drug dealer was arrested while another eluded arrest in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, an official announced.

Lawyer Jacquelyn De Guzman, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) acting regional director, identified the arrested suspected drug dealer as Manny Mustapha alias Boss, 49, a construction worker and a resident of General Santos City.

De Guzman said Mustapha’s cohort, Kaiser Arsa alias Omar, was able to elude arrest during the anti-drug operation around 3:30 p.m. at the arrival area of the Integrated Bus Terminal in the village of Divisoria, this city.

She said confiscated from the possession of Mustapha were some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, one bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill used as drug-bust money, an envelope, a sling bag, cellular phones, pouch and a wallet.

She said a case for violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed in court against the suspect, who was detained.

She said Mustapha was arrested by joint operatives of PDEA, policemen and soldiers. (SunStar Philippines)
