Security protocols up in pre-Sona including Northern Mindanao

THE top official of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Northern Mindanao has ordered police commanders to intensify offensive and defensive mode during the fourth State of the Nation Address (Sona) of President Rodrigo Duterte Monday, July 22.

PRO-Northern Mindanao Director Brigadier General Rafael Santiago Jr. directed his men to strengthen offensive and defensive mode against insurgents, terrorists and criminals that may disrupt the peace and order situation in the region during the president's Sona.

The Northern Mindanao police emphasized to its lower units to maintain peace and order especially in areas where militants and progressive groups hold rallies and demonstrations; supervise traffic management and activate civil disturbance management in coordination with other law enforcement agencies and local government units.

"We should double our efforts to ensure peaceful and successful result of Sona through our strengthened and enhanced security measures together with our counterparts," Santiago said.

"The more that we will be more alert and prepared on possible eventuality," he added.

The Northern Mindanao police asked the public to do their share in maintaining peace and order and report to authorities any suspicious personality or activity in their area.
