More animals die in Cordillera due to El Nino (10:36 a.m.)

MANILA -- The death toll in farm animals due to El Nino in the region of Cordillera have reached 167, according to the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera (DA-CAR).

Regional executive director Cesar Rodriguez, who holds office in Baguio, said that 113 cows, 45 goats, seven carabaos, and two pigs have died.

Most of the animals died due to heat stroke induced by the El Nino phenomenon being experienced by the country right now. (Angela Casauay/Sunnex)
