SSS Mindanao surpasses 2019 revenue target

THE Social Security System (SSS) Mindanao South 1 Division noted that they have surpassed their revenue target for the first semester of the year.

In an interview with SSS SouthMin officer-in-charge Director Head Rizalito Alberto de Leon, he said they have collected more than half of the P1.7 billion for 2019 target from January to June 30 and they are five percent above target.

“With the bigger collection, lalo na for first semester, the benefits would be the employees’ concern is updated siya. There can be no problems on the release of their benefits and their loans,” de Leon said.

He added that their campaign against contribution evaders and collection efforts -- like visitation of employers to constantly remind them to pay their remittance -- are some of the factors for the higher collection in the first semester.

“The constant information with the employers at the same time ‘yong visitations made by our accounts officers [are the factors]. The account officers ‘yan ang naga-bisita sa mga assigned employers from time to time. They visit them and constantly remind them of their remittances,” he said.

De Leon acknowledged that in the second half of the year, there is a tendency that collection will be lower but they remain hopeful to hit their 2019 target.

Last year, they barely hit the 2018 target collection. They collected about P1.2 billion.

In Davao region, they noted around 20,000 employers coming from Davao City, Davao Occidental, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur and Davao Oriental. Davao City has the highest number of employers at 10,983 as of June 28, 2019.
