IVAN Awid and Michael Aquiatan shared championship honors in the last two Datba-organized tournaments held at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center recently.
Awid, with a handicap of 19, hit a total of 612 pinfalls after three games of the weekly singles tournament last Saturday evening, July 20. He defeated ABS-CBN anchor Paul Palacio and Joshua Disuacido who placed second and third, respectively in the 16-player competition.
Palacio, whose handicap is 30, garnered 586 pinfalls while Disuacido (15) scored 579. The top three winners received cash prizes of P800, P400 and P200.
Meanwhile, Aquiatan rolled 645 pins to rule the Tuesday qualifying event. Manny Nierra scored 587 to grab the runner-up honors while optometrist Virgilio “Billy” Magdale made 575 to place third. Aquiatan went home with P600 while Nierra received P400 and Magdale claimed P200.
Games will resume Tuesday evening, July 23.
