DENR model employees lauded for performance

SEVEN personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) regional office here were recognized for their exemplary performance as part of the program on awards and incentives for service excellence (Praise).

Praise is an awards program designed to encourage creativity, innovativeness, efficiency, integrity, and productivity in the public service by recognizing and rewarding officials and employees.

Among those awarded early this week was Simeona Delos Reyes, Administrative Aide of the Surveys and Mapping Division, who bagged the Early Bird Award for 2nd semester of 2018. Encarnacion Puno of Cashier Section, meanwhile, got the Early Bird Award for the 1st semester of 2019. They were recognized for their consistent punctuality and coming to work earlier than the prescribed office hours.

A certificate of appreciation was also awarded to Efren Mangampo of the General Service Section for consistently and religiously implementing the aircon maintenance schedule of the regional office, which led to lower maintenance cost and improvement of energy conservation for the 1st quarter of 2019.

Danilo Manalang, on the other hand, received the “Go-To Person Award” for being dependable, and willingness to work beyond his scope and help for last minute request.

The DENR also commended Danilo Landayan, Cartographer of the Licenses, Patents and Deeds Division (LPDD), Mari Conn Los Banes, Administrative Assistant II of the Personnel Section and Erwin Paul Sarita, Administrative Officer II of the Human Resources Development Section (HRDS) for being responsive to the needs of customers in times of medical emergency. They received the “Quick Response Award.”

Paquito Moreno Jr., executive director of the DENR in Central Luzon, who awarded the certificate of recognition in a simple ceremony, thanked the awardees for their commitment and dedication.

“For others, your efforts may be ordinary. But as you receive your award today, you stand out among other employees,” he said.

According to Tirso Parian Jr., deputy director for Management Service and chair of the DENR PRAISE committee, the awardees went through a rigorous nomination and selection process.

“They are the employees who had gone the extra mile in their quest to deliver public service,” he said.
