Guv: Duterte’s Sona sets direction for next 3 years

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson believes President Rodrigo Duterte’s 4th State of the Nation Address (Sona) provided a direction on what to expect from his governance in the next three years of his term.

Lacson said Duterte’s statement emphasized on his relentless pursuit against illegal drugs and corruption.

He agrees with Duterte’s quote that “no amount of euphemism can trivialize betrayal of public trust and there is much to be done in ensuring the responsiveness to the people’s needs.”

The governor also appreciated Duterte’s priority in streamlining government processes when he ordered all local government units to process all clearances and permits within three days only.

Lacson further emphasized the recent drop of poverty incidence is a good indicator that the nation is on the right path.

“In the end, I guess we are all one with the President in his dream of a better Philippines, better than the one we grew up with,” Lacson said.

On Monday, Duterte made his 4th State of the Nation Address, wherein he tackled issues such as illegal drugs, corruption, peace and order, and the West Philippine Sea. (TDE)
