A HABAL-HABAL (motorcycle for hire) driver was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen who were onboard a vehicle in Dulag, Leyte Tuesday morning, July 23.
The victim was identified as Alexander Asis, 59, married, a resident of Barangay Rizal in Dulag town.
Police initial investigation revealed that Asis was driving his motorcycle toward Barangay Rizal when the gunmen shot him, hitting his left armpit.
Responding Rural Health Unit medical personnel rushed Asis to the Leyte Provincial Hospital in Palo, Leyte for immediate medical attention, but the victim was declared dead on arrival.
Police are conducting further investigation to identify and arrest the gunmen. (SunStar Philippines)
