Bounty on Negros cops' killers raised to P3M

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, July 25, raised the reward money for the capture and death of the killers of four police officers in Negros Oriental to P3 million.

The President, outraged by the killing, said the bounty could even go up to as much as P20 million and could cover "any of the leaders" of the group of armed men who executed the four officers.

The P3-million bounty is thrice the original amount offered by Duterte for the capture of the killers. The President later offered an additional P300,000 to anyone who could bring him the heads of the killers.

"Bring the head of that felon. So the other night, first P1 million, then the other night, I was before the governors and mayors, I said I'm raising it to P2 million. Now, nandito ako, I'm raising it to P3 million," Duterte announced in a speech delivered in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

"Dalhin mo lang ang ulo ng p***** i**, okay lang sa akin. It will keep on increasing and the pressure that goes with it. Kasi pagkatapos niyan, 'pag mag-abot ng P20 milyones iyan, sabihin ko, dalhin mo na maski anong ulo basta leader," he added.

(Bring the head of that son of a b****. It will keep on increasing and the pressure that goes with it. Because after that, it could reach P20 million, bring me the head of any of their leaders.)

The four policemen were allegedly executed by suspected members of the communist New People's Army in front of the villagers of Barangay Mabato in Ayungon town in Negros Oriental on July 18.

Police said their faces were "deformed", a sign that they were tortured.

The slain officers were identified as Police Corporal Relebert Beronio and Patrolmen Raffy Callao, Ruel Cabellon, and Marquino de Leon.

They belonged to the 704 Mobile Force Company of the 7th Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), which is stationed in Poblacion, Mabinay, Negros Oriental.

Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde earlier said they have identified the 11 suspected NPA members who perpetrated the crime. (SunStar Philippines)
