P1.6M released for ‘Nego Karts’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) regional office has announced Wednesday that some P1.6 million has been released for Nego Karts or “Negosyo sa Kariton” to 110 ambulant vendors.

This was learned from Dole-Central Luzon Information Officer Jerry Borja who told Sun.Star Pampanga that the department’s priority program for the poor, especially those hard hit by calamities, has made its impact and attained part of its goals.

“Since its launching five months ago, Dole-3 has facilitated the release of a total of P1,650,000 to ambulant vendors in the region. The Nego Karts, usually used vending street food like burgers and barbeque, have helped improve their livelihood and have transformed into more competitive micro enterprises that yielded earnings for them comparable to daily wage earners,” said Borja.

Borja added that the Dole-3 Nego Karts would not have been possible without the assistance of local government units and their respective public employment services offices in Central Luzon.
