DA personnel attend gender-responsive training

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Department of Agriculture (DA) hosted the “Gender-Responsive Development Planning” training in a hotel in Angeles City attended by 38 members and representative of the Focal Point System.

The Gender-Responsive Development Planning focuses on the process, strategies and the development and management results of integrating gender equality and women’s empowerment concerns in various stages of the project cycle.

The training consists of a three-session outline. Session I discussed the Overview of Gender Mainstreaming (GM) and Gender Analysis (GA), while Session II focuses on Enhanced Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF). Session III's discussion was on Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) and presentation of GAD Planning and Budgeting Guidelines.

During the training, the participants were clustered into four groups.

After every session, participants presented their workshop output. In the HGDG workshop, two DA-RFO 3 project proposals, namely “Product Development and Promotion of Cassava Products for Upland Farmer’s in Central Luzon” and “Training/ Orientation on Philippine Good Agricultural Practices (PhilGap) for crops and animal welfare act (AWA) to men and women of Region 3” were used as tools.

The three-day training workshop resource speaker was Vichel Rse E. Juguilon-Pangan, a certified member of the PCW GAD Resource Pool.
