BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya was elected as vice-chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations on Wednesday, July 24.
Gasataya said Thursday that he’s happy that he was elected as vice-chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations which handles all matters related to the national expenditure or budget.
The election was held during the joint session of the 18th Congress on Wednesday afternoon.
Gasataya said Davao Congressman Isidro Ungab was elected as chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations.
“This will be a big challenge on my part because you will be defending the country’s budget in the plenary as well as in the budget deliberation,” he said.
Gasataya added that some of the committees will be assigned on their next session. (MAP)
