CEBUANOS will witness high level streetball as the US-based Court Kingz visit Cebu for a 12-day tour on July 26 to Aug. 6, 2019.

The Court Kingz, founded in 2004 and which has since visited various parts of the globe to promote basketball and inspire young people, will be in Cebu for the first time.

The Court Kingz will be in Talisay City on July 26 and 27 before going to San Remigio, Daanbantayan, Medellin and Bogo City on July 28 to 31. They will be back in Cebu City on Aug. 1 to 6.

The tour will culminate with an exhibition game between the Court Kingz and the Jump 10 Philippine Team on Aug. 3 at the University of San Jose-Recoletos gym in Basak.

“We have done this for the past 15 years. I’ve seen a lot of different scenarios, even in the roughest part of the world. We’re here to inspire young people and to also prepare for the Jump10 (World Hoop Challenge),” said Court Kingz founder Victor Martinez during Friday’s press conference at the Raphael’s Sports Cafe.

The Court Kingz has made stops in China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Bahamas, Ecuador, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.

The Court Kingz is known for its eye-popping dribbling skills, high-flying dunks and other hard court exploits that will surely amaze the streetball fans.

“It’s going to be pure entertainment, nothing but highlights. We’re going to enjoy the court, enjoy the vibe and hopefully we inspire people,” said Court Kingz veteran Sam “Zig Zag” Diaz.

The Jump 10 Philippine Team will be led by former national team member and Cebuano hoop legend Dondon Hontiveros.

“This is a great opportunity for the Cebuanos to watch the country’s best players play against the US’s finest basketball players,” said Apex Sports executive producer Pat Maluya.

Jump 10 Philippine Team will be representing the country in the Jump10 World Hoops Challenge in Shanghai, China in August.

The tickets for the exhibition game are at P500 for the courtside, P350 for the lower box and P200 for the upper box. (RSC)
