THE Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has launched the Mandaue Business Month (MBM) with the theme of promoting sustainable and socially-responsible entrepreneurship.

MCCI president Stanley Go said the activities are aimed at emphasizing Mandaue’s role as the “Bridge City” and promoting Mandaue among potential investors.

“We have a lineup of activities that we really worked hard on to make a huge impact not just in Mandaue but to the whole province,” he said during the launch ceremony Thursday, July 25, 2019.

For the opening salvo on August 1, the MBM will kick off with a concert featuring homegrown talents such as the Mandaue Cultural Dance Troupe, Nash Casas and the Wonggoys at the City Hall .

On August 3, San Miguel Brewery, in partnership with MCCI, will hold the annual tree-planting activity dubbed as “Trees Brew Life.”

The flagship event, the MCCI Business Summit, will be held on August 16, where speakers and business personalities will share their expertise on business and corporate excellence.

A job fair, “Trabaho Ta Bai!,” will also be held on August 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oakridge Pavilion.

In the last week of August, activities showcasing Mandaue’s heritage and business potential will be highlighted for the upcoming 50th Charter Day Anniversary.

Mandaue-made products ranging from food to fashion items, handicraft and furniture will also be sold at big discounts during the Mandaue’s Best trade fair on August 26 to 31 at the Parkmall.

The Investment Forum scheduled for September 6 is expected to bring in potential investors to Mandaue. It will be followed by the Chamber Night at 6 p.m. in the Oakridge Pavilion where the awarding of outstanding business personalities, products and places or destination that brought fame and honor to the city will be held.

Kelie Ko, MBM 2019 chair, said the awarding ceremony would recognize business owners and their companies that made significant contributions to Mandaue City’s economy. (JOB)
