More than just a pretty face

SHE had been doing modeling trainings when she was younger but the Miss Pre Teen International competition was Jaymee Faythe Villagomeza Halasan's first ever beauty pageant.

But the 15-year-old teenager proved that first time does not mean incompetence and inability to compete with other contestants because last June 30, 2019, she was crowned as the Miss Pre-Teen International 2019. She was hailed the best against other 13 candidates coming from different countries in the Asia Pacific. The coronation was held in Jalan Loyang Besar, Singapore.

Faythe was born in Davao City and was raised in Bangkok City, Thailand. Her being raised in another country did not stop her from learning and living according to Filipino culture and traditions. This is thanks to how she was brought up by her singer parents James Halasan and Niña Villagomeza Halasan. It was such great honor and gladness that she represented Davao City, Philippines in the pageant and even wore an eagle ensemble for her national costume. In that same coronation she won the Best in National Costume award.

During a visit at the SunStar Davao office, Faythe shared how her advocacy now is to help those in need especially the old and the homeless who would need food to eat. Even a small gesture as handing packed food to the homeless on the street, Faythe said this is already a huge step and a big thing for those who need and yearn for it. She said she really has a soft spot in her heart for helpless elderly that she would just sometimes see on the streets begging.

Faythe is not only gifted with a compassionate heart, her own singing voice is also a gift. Coming from both singing parents, Faythe would sometimes win school talent shows in Thailand and has recently been accepted in Vocal Star together with 400 other teens in Thailand.

She is studying at Ekamai International School in Bangkok where she is very active in their student council and is a member of their cheerleading team.

Her winning the crown is because of her hard work, parents' support, and the dedication of her team made up of pageant trainer Rogil Flores of Kagandahang Flores, designer Edwin Uy, make-up artist Shone Zendon, photographer Ross Paris and national director Jeffrey Benitez.
