UNITY in the word commUNITY. A beautiful action word that will hopefully reverberate among the different youth and civic entities here in Baguio and the Cordillera.

The Diocese of Baguio and Mangaywan Corporation headed by Fr. Marlon Urmaza organized the “One Community Outreach Program” held last July 13 at Session Rd. The outreach consisted of bloodletting, free medical, optometry and legal services. There was free haircut, portrait sketching, entertainment by local artists/talents and playtime for kids.

Community service oriented groups present gave free coffee, snacks, food, and rice and even demonstrated culinary skills to spectators and the crowd. Also showcased were the disaster and calamity preparedness, rescue and survival booths. Addressing environmental challenges, pine tree saplings were given away.

Looking forward to this annual event! Among those seen in action are the young ones of the Baguio Apaches (peons) and the Baguio-Benguet Public Information and Civic Action Group (BB-PICAG).

Bombo Medico 2019 is an annual medical, dental and optical mission by Bombo Radyo Philippines and Star FM. It is a simultaneous activity in 24 key cities nationwide. This was held last July 14 at the Baguio Central University and Pines City Colleges. According to the organizers, there were 2,138 beneficiaries of the varied services. Young doctors, volunteers and organizers take a short break during the day’s activities.

Cosplay Academia. Co-presenter Cosplay Academia headed by Robin Balisi and team make a short visit to Mayor Benjamin Magalong to launch “Shogun Renaissance” that will be held this October 18 at the Malcolm Square Plaza. It will be a wonderful event to empower the youth in a one of a kind arts and crafts fair.

Obamchelle Launch. The Obamchelle Production family, a modeling group, held their grand launching last July 12 at the Mofamco Hall. It is indeed a great way of keeping the youth proactive, busy and inspired. Juliris Ligtinen heads Obamchelle.

“The Team November Car and Motor Show” was held last July 13. Show cars, motorcycles, SUV and AUV’s and 4x4 off road were showcased in neat rows. It was a call to be responsible vehicle owners and also in the promotion of clean air. Adding to the energy was a fashion show by Likha models and a live band held at Lower Session Rd. Awarding and recognition to winners and sponsors made it more memorable. Kudos to coordinators Nathaniel Macaraeg, Ariel Boado, Gerard Jaramillo, Kate Rilloraza, and Jayvee Macuha.

Mabuhay and Godspeed!
