Denim fashion in ‘Patch Your Denim’

ON SATURDAY, July 27, 2019 SM Lanang Premier's shoppers had the chance to design their denim pants, jackets, shorts and even bags during the “Patch Your Denim” creative workshop with fashion designer Maizy Colleen.

Denims are a regular go-to-OOTD for a lot of people. However, there are times when you get tired of how your denim essentials look, right? Therefore, pumping it up with patches and beads would make them look even better. Likewise, they would help you look more stylish as you attend a gathering or meet-up with friends.

During the workshop, I and my five-year-old daughter, together with some other guests and shoppers, had a fun-filled activity working on our favorite denim pieces. In our case, we brought our denim jackets and we worked together to make them more fashionable.

With Maizy Colleen's help, we were able to unleash the artist in us. It was also a chance for me to witness the creativity of my little fashionista. And I must admit, my daughter's output was way better than mine. But, of course, it was a great bonding experience for both of us.

By the way, the featured fashion designer at the event is a registered nurse who decided to pursue her passion for design. Thus, she studied Fashion at the Fashion Institute of Design and Arts (FIDA) then practiced as a junior designer in Dubai. After working there for two years, she decided to move back here in Davao and establish her own atelier in 2017.

At present, she creates custom-made pieces for brides and debutantes.

To know more about this passionate Davao-based designer, you may follow her on Instagram @maizycolleen. You may likewise get fashion ideas from her Instagram account on how to make your denims look better. And in case you do not have yet the perfect denim pieces you want to customize, you still have time to enjoy over 70 percent discount at the Denim Sale which runs until July 31.
