ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has reappointed businessman and philanthropist Dr. Reghis Romero II as a member of the board of the City College of Angeles (CCA).
Lazatin personally conveyed the message to Romero that he will be retained in his position, during their meeting at the mayor’s office on Friday, July 26.
Romero represents the private sector in the CCA board.
For his part, Romero praised Lazatin for prioritizing health and education.
“Angeles is a rapidly growing city. We need to educate well our people in order to keep pace with the development. Mayor Lazatin is right in prioritizing education,” said Romero in an interview after his meeting with Lazatin.
Romero said Lazatin should give more attention to the public elementary and high school levels aside from improving the CCA.
He added that the mayor should “indeed focus” on health.
“Where will they bring the people when they are sick? Mayor Lazatin should really improve health services,” said Romero, who is a native of Angeles City.
Lazatin vowed to improve the services and facilities at the Ospital Ng Angeles. (Chris Navarro)
