ANGELES City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega said the city council will investigate the new billing scheme of Converge during the Legislative Inquiry scheduled Tuesday, July 30.

Vega said the inquiry will be made amid mounting complaints against the Internet and cable provider Converge. The inquiry at the Legislative Building of the Angeles City Hall will start at 2pm.

“Asna pu katas ing bill... lagi naman ala signal,” said Irene De Jesus. “Eton a pinakahihintay ng lahat,” said Eunece Navarette. “Wala man lang notice o rason kung bakit bigla lang migtas,” said Lor Nacpil. The monthly subscription fee was reportedly raised from P1,299 to 1,675.09.

“My bill jumped from P3,500 to P4,600 They say this is a one-time charge due to change of billing cycle but why are they asking us to pay for something we didn’t request changed? What happens if they decide to change the billing cycles again in a few months? We pay for it again?” asked Paolo Rodriguez.

“Sa akin from P3,500 to P4,700. Tapos ‘yung isang account ko P1,500 to P2,100. Tapos mag-text lang July 26 due date ko kanu July 30 nanu ita. Kala ko ba new billing cycle na e bat ganoon pa rin?” said M Jane Akers.

Vega said hundreds of residents of Angeles City had been complaining about the increase in subscription fee being charged by Converge. New applicants are also told they cannot apply for cable TV connection in the next six months due to systems improvement. (PR)
