‘Model’ police station to rise in Candaba town

A NEW state-of-the-art police station will soon be utilized by the local police force as the Philippine National Police (PNP) and local government of Candaba on Friday, July 26, broke ground for the construction of the building.

The PNP building will rise in a 600 square-meter lot in Barangay Pasig here, right beside the town’s community hospital. The lot was donated by the local government here to the PNP back in 2015.

Pampanga Police Provincial Office director Colonel Jean Fajardo said the PNP allocated some P8 million for the construction of the said “model municipal police station”, which is expected to be finished in about three months.

“The construction of this police station is a step closer to our dream of having a model police station in every city and town in Pampanga,” Fajardo said, adding that model police stations must have at least a 600 square-meter floor area.

Fajardo assured Candabeños of an improved delivery of public service, particularly in their mandate of service and protecting the people, once the building is finished and ready for utilization.

“Our commitment to the people, and also to Governor Dennis Pineda and Mayor Rene Maglanque who extended a huge help for the realization of this project, is to further ensure the safety and security of the public and maintain the peace and order in the community,” Fajardo said.

Maglanque, for his part, said the new project will boost the peace and order situation in this town that is expected to lead to improved quality of life for locals and influx of businesses and investments in the area.

“Pinili namin na dito ilagay sa Barangay Pasig dahil ito ang boundary ng Sta. Ana at Candaba at gusto natin maipakita na pagpasok pa lang sa Candaba, nandito na ang kapulisan natin para siguraduhin ang seguridad ng bawat Candabeño at maging ng mga bisita,” he said.

Aside from the donation of lot, Maglanque said the local government also shouldered the upgrading of the land, which is excluded in the contract between government and chosen project contractor.
