Businessman stabbed, robbed

A BUSINESSMAN was injured after he was stabbed by a car broker who carnapped his vehicle at the Parking Lot in Gaisano City Mall, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City Sunday evening, July 28.

Police identified the victim as Peter Lopez, 25, of Manville Royale, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod.

Police Major Charles Gever, chief of Police Station 8, said Monday that Lopez, who engaged in buy and sell car business in Bacolod, sustained multiple wounds after he was attacked by a car broker, a certain Jake Javier, using a knife around 7 p.m.

Investigation showed that Lopez and Javier were at the parking lot in Gaisano City Mall for a car transaction when a heated argument ensued between them. Javier took a knife and stabbed the victim and carted away the P100,000 cash and the Hi-lux vehicle owned by the victim.

Police recovered two knives from the scene of the crime.

Gever said the victim was brought to the Riverside Medical Center and he’s now in stable condition.

He said around 8 a.m. Monday, the Hi-lux vehicle of Lopez was recovered at St. Jude Parish in Barangay Alijis.

He added a concerned citizen informed the police that the vehicle of Lopez was seen parked in front of the church.

Gever said they are still conducting a follow-up operation to arrest the suspect who may be charged for robbery with frustrated homicide and carnapping. (MAP)
