POLICE investigators are looking into land dispute as a possible motive in the killing of a lawyer in Valencia City, Bukidnon over the weekend, while at least two possible masterminds have been identified.
Valencia City Police Chief Surki Sereñas said the investigation was also narrowed down to the two motorcycle-riding gunmen who shot to death lawyer Nicolas Gomez.
Gomez was originally from Davao City and stayed temporarily in Valencia City.
"We have narrowed down our investigation to a very few persons of interest and their cohorts," he said.
"The killing was very likely motivated by land conflict," he added.
Serenas said investigators already gathered information, including video footage from security cameras, eyewitness accounts, and circumstantial and physical evidence useful in the filing of charges.
"We are just ascertaining that we have an airtight case against the principal suspects and cohorts," he said.
