THE Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), under the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO)-Central Luzon, conducted a second coordination meeting with the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) and Municipal Project Management and Implementing Unit (MPMIU) last Thursday, July 26, held at Grace Crown Hotel, Angeles City.
RPCO-Central Luzon project director Dr. Eduardo Lapuz, Jr. welcomed the delegates from the seven provinces and emphasized the importance of the meeting which serves as a venue to know about the updates, issues, and concerns on all the current subprojects.
Lapuz recalled that during the concluded 8th World Bank Implementation Support held in Pangasinan, Central Luzon was lauded for holding the highest target disbursement.
“Now on the second semester we have a bigger target to be accomplished for the remaining six months of the year,” he added.
Meanwhile, RPCO Central Luzon action officer Gil David presented the accomplishment and current status of the subprojects that highlighted the increase in rural investment and furthered stronger ties with the local government units, adding that seven provincial local government units (PLGU) and 11 municipal local government units (MLGU) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for PRDP implementation.
David urged the participants to cooperate in considering a strategy in achieving the target disbursement for this year.
In another presentation, I-Reap component head Fernando Lorenzo said that there are 52 ongoing small livelihood projects, 80 completed small livelihood projects, 19 ongoing regular I-Reap subprojects, 80 completed small livelihood projects and 1 completed regular I-REAP subproject.
Representing I-Build component head Engr. Abraham Molina, rural infrastructure engineer Romel Tiangco presented the summary of on-going and completed infrastructure subprojects.
During the meeting, a workshop was initiated to deliberate the disbursement target for I-Build and I-Reap subprojects likewise to assess the physical accomplishment and financial target disbursement for the 3rd and 4th quarter of this year.
The foremost objective of the coordination meeting is to discuss the status of the on-going subprojects to meet the target disbursement and to gauge regional performance.
