What’s the TV rating now of Balitang Bisdak?
OLIVER AMOROSO: RTV Balitang Bisdak has been leading the MCTAM Rating (Metro Cities Television Audience Measurement) since January this year. Latest ratings for the July 1-20 show that RTV Balitang Bisdak is 1.8% ahead of competition. Our biggest lead so far. And Balitang Bisdak together with GMA Western Visayas local newscast One Western Visayas is winning with Urban Visayas viewers by 1.6% for the period of July 15-19.
Unsa nga segment sa Balitang Bisdak ang most-viewed?
CECILLE QUIBOD-CASTRO: I’m sure it should be Balitang Barangay kay kini sila mga concern man gud ni sa community nga ilang gipadangat mismo sa amoa, either manawag or they go to our official Facebook page sa Balitang Bisdak. It also helps kay kami mismo tigduaw sa Kapuso Barangayan sa Talisay, LapuLapu, Mandaue and Cebu city. So that way, makita gyud namo ilang concerns ug mahimamat sad namo sila personal. Dili lang problema ang among hisgutan, of course, ilang mga everyday nga kasikas, ilang hobbies like Zumba dancing and so on. I’m sure ang mga Cebuano maka-relate ani kay para ni nila.
ALAN DOMINGO: Siguro usa sa mga rason nganong gi-patronize ang Balitang Bisdak kay di lang ta nakatutok sa mga hard news kay bug-at kaayo na para sa atong viewers. Siguro kining mga light segment, sama sa “Lami Siya,” “Lahi Ra,” “Manglaag”... ang Balitang Bisdak maorag dad-on ka ngadto sa usa ka dapit diin ma-refresh siguro imong feelings, mogaan ang imong pamati. Unya maghisgot ta’g “Lami Siya” maorag makapalaway ba, so malimtan labi nang mga patay nga balita, dunay pangbalanse, pampagaan sa ilang kahapunon.
ANN MARIE TAN: And if I may add, our team Balitang Bisdak is very industrious. They make sure we always get exclusive stories. Most of our viewers also look forward towards the end of the newscast. Magbabad gyud na sila because of Super Bobby’s antics and surprise.
Unsay kalainan sa Balitang Bisdak ug sa TV Weekend News?
CECILLE: Sa TV Weekend News dili lang Balitang Bisdak ang among scope, dili lang Central and Eastern Visayas as it will be from the different regions. Gi-cumulate na ang tanang major stories gikan sa Luzon, Dagupan, and Central and Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas and as well as in Mindanao. We will also be rounding sa pag-anchor. Rotation mi. Kita lay mauna for the pilot episode (Saturday, July 27). Next Saturday will be Dagupan Balitang Amianan, then Western Visayas, Iloilo and Bacolod and fourth will be One Mindanao in Davao, then balik na sad dinhi sa GMA Cebu. And it’s in English language.
LOU ANN MAE RONDINA: We also have in depth discussions in one of our segments, Regional TV Presents. Dinhi mas gipalawman namo ang mga issue sa balita. Each reporter is tasked every week with 5 different topics to be discussed with Chona Carreon, Nikko Sereno and I. Super Bob, sooner or later, you will reach the mandatory age of retirement. Unsay ma-expect sa imong fans kon moabot nang panahona?
BOBBY NALZARO: I’ve been in this profession for 39 years. I started my broadcasting career in Zamboanga city way back in 1980. I transferred to Cebu in 1987. I was with Bombo Radyo for 10 years and then RGMA took me in when they relaunched the AM station dySS. Panahon to nila Bobby Barreiro and (formerly GMA president) Menardo Jimenez, Sr. I was lucky enough nga akoy gikuha nila as solo anchor for Balitang Bisdak. Now what will happen kon moabot na ang tukmang panahon. You know, as a newscaster I’m just a talent. This is only a privilege. Anytime they can terminate my contract. But sa radio I’m regular. Hangtod nga makatabi pa siguro ko ug dili pa ta ulyanin. Pero bisan dili pa ta moabot sa retirement age which is 65 sa RGMA but if the management will tell me that, “based on survey wa na kay ratings, wa nay naminaw nimo, so please kutob ka na lang diha.” We are good as our last broadcast so to speak. Mao na’y klaro.
What about politics?
SUPER BOB: I’m not closing that possibility. But as of this time, I’m enjoying my work. Gisaligan pa ta sa management. Unya mao man ni atong forte, mao man ni atong expertise, so dire lang sa ko angayan mo-focus. I’m also doing public services like any other politicians for that matter.
What’s with that all-white attire?
SUPER BOB: Ganahan lang ko. Maorag comfortable and then maorag mo-stand out ka sa grupo ba. Ang akong mahinumduman si Baby Dalupan kadtong coach sa Crispa nakaputi sad to siya. Kato si Bubby Dacer bag-o ra to nakaila gani. Nag-start kog sul-ob og puti mga 20 years pa siguro. Ah no, I started it in Bombo so 22 years na ko sa RGMA, so maybe 25 years na.
