TWELVE Kagay-anon beauties vying to be the next Miss Cagayan de Oro showed off their best skills and prowess in the pageant’s talent competition at the event center of SM City Cagayan de Oro on Saturday, July 27.

Wearing their choice of outfit that would match their individual expertise, be it in singing, dancing, declamation or oration, the 2019 Miss Cagayan de Oro candidates wowed their audience and the judges.

The contestants were judged based on the kind of talent, style and manner of presentation, audience impact and the quality of their presentation.

Eileen San Juan, the City Fiesta Executive Committee head, lauded the execution of this year’s talent competition. In last year’s tilt, candidates had much delay in preparing their props or equipment for the show.

“This shows nga karon sa atong talent competition is well-organized, hapsay tanan and we like how they are really showing their talents, very natural, and at the same time, very powerful,” San Juan said.

The talent competition is one of the major parts of the Miss Cagayan de Oro search alongside the swimsuit competition, which will be held on August 3 at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel, and the evening gown competition on August 17 at SM CDO Downtown Premier.

The coronation night will be at the Limketkai Atrium on August 24. San Juan said a special guest will perform during the event.

“We have a special guest also who might be coming for her TV show nga iyang i-uban gyod ang highlight sa city fiesta. I hope she will really make it because I am still trying to finalize that,” San Juan said.

Meanwhile, the Higalaay Festival of the city will be officially launched on August 4.

San Juan said the city government has allocated P2.5-million budget for the city fiesta.

“A lot of the organizers of our core events has a lot of special highlights also sa ilang mga (in their) events. So we are looking forward to more visitors coming to Cagayan de Oro for this one,” San Juan said.

She added that this year’s fiesta will have more participation in the different events lined up for the celebration.
