USA ka dakong garbo sa lungsod sa Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental nga makabaton ug usa ka maanyag dugangan pa ang ka labihan ka intelihente nga walay lain si Miss Ana Monica Tan, kinsa misakmit sa 1st runnerup sa Miss Air Philippines 2018 niadtong bag-o lang natapos nga Miss Philippines Earth sa Okada, Manila.
Bongga ang pagpangandam nga gihimo sa kagamhanan sa probinsyal sa pagpangulo ni Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano ug ni Provincial Tourism Department head abogado Jeffrey Saclot.
Si Ana Monica migradwar sa kursong BS Biology, ug karon anaa na sa ikatulo ka tuig sa Medical School alang sa pagka doktor nga karon iya usa nga gisakripisyo tungod kay passion man niini nga morampa.
Nahimong kandidata kaniadto sa Miss Kuyamis 2017 ug maoy mananaog sa titulo ug dinhi dayon sunod-sunod nga mibukas ang daghang oportunidad kaniya.
“One of the best things that ever happened in my entire life was winning the Miss Kuyamis crown coz it opens so many doors for me. It has been a pleasure to represent one of the best provinces here in the Philippines, the Misamis Oriental,” emosyonal nga pahayag niini.
Tungod kay aduna pay daghan nga buhaton si Ana, isip reigning queen hinungdan nga limitado lamang kaayo ang oras niini, ug taliwala sa kadaghang eskedyul niini mibalik sa Misamis Oriental aron personal nga pasalamatan ang mga tao luyo sa iyang kalamposan.
“I am so happy to be home now here in Misamis Oriental, and I would want to take this opportunity to thank all of you. I would like to thank Governor Bambi Emano. Kung dili tungod kang Gov, no, wala gyod ko diri karon nagtindog sa inyong atubangan nagdala og korona. So dako kaayo nga suporta, all out support, wala gyod ko naglisod ug wala gyod ko naghuna-huna nga unsa pa akong buhaton kay gihatag gyod ni Gov ang tanan niya nga suporta,” pahayag ni Monica.
Wala sab niini gilimtan og pasalamat si Atty. Jeffrey Saclot nga sugod pa sa Miss Kuyamis anaa na luyo kaniya nagasuporta ug tanan tawo luyo sa iyang naangkon.
Adbokasiya
Buot ipaabot ni Ana Monica nga gusto niyang mapalapdan ug mapalambo ang iyang adbokasya sa watershed management protection plan sa lungsod sa Tagoloan.
“Tagoloan is a home to the 13th largest river system. I want to strengthen the watershed management protection and management of our watershed, kay atong watershed naa diha ang source sa natural resources. So it is very important for us to protect this. And as aspiring doctor, I would like also to advocate for environmental health. Kay ngano man? Kay kung unsa man ang atong environment, apektado man pod atong health diba? So kung hugaw atong environment, atong health affected pod. Pero kung limpyo, kita pod healthy.”
Gipasabot sab niini nganong napili kini nga adbokasya.
“I actually choose watershed management plan because Tagoloan rivers is very important to the municipality, and it is the source of natural resources and the source of needs to us people. It needs community efforts. But, I believe that the best thing that we can primarily do is to plant trees, emphasizing on native trees mostly endemic here in Tagoloan because that is the most important for the ecosystem of our environment,” pasabot pa niini.
Gipasabot sab og maayo niini ang iyang tubag atol sa Coronation day kon asa kini ang pangutana: “Which do you think is a better strategy to encourage people to be environmentally conscious: give incentives for good environmental practice or penalize bad eco-habits? Why?”
“First of there are advantages and disadvantages to giving incentives and giving penalized... For me I believe, for the Philippines, the best way that we can encourage people is to be environmentally conscious is to penalized because it is our obligation to take care of our mother earth. We don’t need any reward for it because it is an obligation and it is very important for us to discipline ourselves. We need to see that we are connected with nature... We need each other to survive and so it is a top priority for us to take care of mother earth,” pasabot ni Tan.
Kumpiyansa sab nga natubag ni Tan ang tanang mga pangutana sa mga sakop sa prensa atol sa press conference kon asa kauban niini si Governor Emano, kinsa suportado sab ang iyang adbokasya lakip na kung unsay sunod nga lakang niini sa natad sa kompetisyon o karera man ang pilion niini.
“I have already committed that we will help her 101 percent. After your stint, you can be assured that, when you go back to school, MisOr (Misamis Oriental) will help you, Ana. Tabangan ka namo tungod sa imong gihimo mga sakrispisyo sa Misamis Oriental,” matud ni Emano.
Nakab-ot
Wala sab gikamahay ni Monica ang iyang nakab-ot nga kadungganan ug gibutyag niini nga taliwala paman daghan ang nagtuoo ug nagsalig nga siya na unta ang mahimong mananaog sa Miss Philippines Earth, mapahiubsanon gihapon niining gisulti nga plano kining tanan sa Ginoo alang kaniya.
“Throughout my journey, I’m really happy and learn a lot. And I believed there is a reason for everything, so I’m also happy I’ve got this... I’m very excited what’s in store for me next. To my future successor, just be yourself. Focus on yourself. Don’t compare yourself to others. Do your best and the rest will follow,” butyag niini.
Tungod sa dakong nakab-ot niini sa natad sa pageant, kwalipikado kini kaayong mosalmot sa Binibining Pilipinas. Apan si Monica niingon nga bout niyang mapadayon usa iyang pagtoun apan kung pagbout kini sa labawng makagagahom iya kining kab-uton.
“It is always my honor to represent Misamis Oriental, but whatever God plans for me and whatever doors that open let it be...” butyag niini.
