A MOTORCYCLE driver died and another was injured in a road accident at Mansilingan-Murcia Road in Purok Katilingban, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City Tuesday evening, July 30.
Police identified the fatality as Ricardo de los Santos, 58, of Barangay Taculing. Injured was Joeneric Ricarfort, 43, of Barangay Felisa, both in Bacolod City.
Police Master Sergeant Ben Tajonera, investigator of Police Station 7, said Wednesday that De los Santos, who was driving his Honda motorcycle was traveling from Barangay Mansilingan, tried to avoid a dog along the Mansilingan-Murcia Road around 8:10 p.m.
“He hit the dog and lost control of his motorcycle and occupied the opposite lane hitting Ricafort, who was also driving his Kawasaki motorcycle,” he said.
He added that Ricarfort was also on his way to Barangay Felisa.
Due to the strong impact, Tajonera said that De los Santos died on the spot while Ricarfort was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and he’s now in stable condition. (MAP)
