Police seize drugs worth P4.4 million

ILLEGAL drugs worth P4.4 million were seized by operatives of the Carbon Police Station in two anti-drug operation in Cebu City.

The first operation, led by Police Captain Alvin Llamedo, occurred at M.L. Quezon Boulevard, Barangay Ermita, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 01, 2019.

Police arrested Giovannie Mirnilo Mancao, also known as 'Dodong', 18 years old, from Sitio Buli, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.

Recovered from Mancao were packages of suspected shabu each weighing 500 grams, with a total value of P3,440,000.

During the operation, a police officer acted as a customer and pretended to purchase from Mancao using marked money.

Police then apprehended Mancao after he accepted the cash.

Considered a high value target at Carbon police station, Mancao is currently under investigation as police probe out his alleged supplier.

While the second operation was conducted on the same night at 10 p.m. in Sitio Climaco, Barangay Pahina Central where Sanny "Sanny Boy" Bermudez, a 21-years-old resident from Jones Avenue, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Cebu City was arrested.

Large packs of suspected shabu worth P950,000, each weighing 140 grams, were confiscated by the police from Bermudez.

Following the arrest of Mancao and Bermudez, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director P/ Colonel Gemma Vinluan congratulated the operatives for the successful operation. FROM AYB OF SUPERBALITA CEBU
