FIVE games are on hand when the Davao Youth Basketball League (DYBL) resumes Saturday, August 3, at the Margarita Gym, J.P. Laurel Avenue while the semifinals of the Liga Pinay Developmental League is set Sunday, August 4, at the Mutual Homes Gym in Catitipan, Davao City.

The Philippine Academy of Sakya (2-0) eyes its third win when it collides with Brokenshire Science High School (1-1) at 10:30 a.m. followed by another junior bracket A match between 1-1 Philippine Women's College of Davao (PWC) and 0-2 Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) at 11:45 a.m.

The 8 a.m. curtain raiser pits cadet bracket D unbeaten teams 2-0 Calinan National High School (CNHS) and 2-0 Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJKIS) against each other.

CNHS (1-1), meanwhile, expects an uphill battle against junior bracket B leader 2-0 PNJKIS at 9:15 a.m. while 1-1 Assumption College of Davao (ACD) faces struggling 0-2 Davao Christian High School (DCHS) at 1 p.m. in junior bracket B.

In Liga Pinay, second-ranked Ateneo de Davao University plays against No. 3 ACD-A at 1:45 p.m. while league leader Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (Dranhs) collides with No. 4 ACD-B at 3 p.m..

The Ateneo Lady Blue Knights demolished PWC, 48-38, while ACD-A routed CNHS, 47-29, in the cagefest organized by Red Sports Events.

Dranhs, coached by Ronnie Berato, led the team standings with a 5-0 win-loss card while Ateneo, ACD-A and ACD-B figured in a three-way tie for second spot. The Jaime Chan-mentored Ateneo, however, prevailed with a better quotient than the two ACD squads.
