CANDABA -- To help the agriculture sector, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has provided a backhoe on barge for farmers in this town.

Pineda, together with town Mayor Rene Maglanque, personally supervised the delivery and turnover of the said heavy equipment to several groups of farmers at the town's Kapampangan region.

Candaba’s Kapampangan Region is comprised of seven barangays namely Magumbali, Salapungan, Barangca, Mapaniqui, Tagulod, Lourdes and Mandili. Majority of the residents in these villages rely on farming.

Pineda said the backhoe on barge will be used to desilt the waterways surrounding the said area to ensure that farmers can maximize their production.

“Our farmers here have requested for this backhoe on barge which the provincial government is not yet using so we opted to lend it to them in the hope that it can help them in their livelihood. This will stay here until they thought they don’t need it anymore,” Pineda said.

Maglanque expressed gratitude to Pineda and the provincial government for heeding to the requests of the local farmers here, and for personally taking time to reach out to them.

“We are much thankful that Governor Pineda did not only heard our request but also recognized our contribution to the agricultural sector of the province, especially that Candaba is known to be the biggest producer of rice and tilapia,” he said.

Aside from the heavy equipment, Pineda and fourth district Representative Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc also took time to hear the other concerns and assistance needed by the farmers here.

Pineda and Bondoc vowed to provide all the assistance they can solicit to boost their respective production, as well as improve their livelihood and the quality of lives of their families.
