AUTHORITIES arrested a drug peddler who has been a "priority target" during an entrapment operation in Purok 5, Barangay Mabuhay, Bansalan, Davao del Sur on Saturday, August 3.

Police reported that Calixto Molido Pasanting, 44, a resident of Kidapawan City, was nabbed around 5:25 p.m. He yielded about P86,000 worth of illegal drugs.

The anti-illegal drug operation was conducted by joint elements of Bansalan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Branch-Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao del Sur.

Police Regional Office-Davao Director Marcelo Morales said the operation was part of the Philippine National Police's intensified campaign against high-value targets and illegal drug syndicates.

"The suspect is considered Top 9 in the Regional Priority High-Value Target. In the coming days, expect more will be arrested," he said.

Confiscated during the operation were two sachets of substance believed to be shabu and one Yamaha MIO single motorcycle.

Pasanting was placed under the custody of the PDEA Davao del Sur, while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against him.
