Baguio fighters see action in ONE Warrior Series

TEAM Lakay’s Lito Adiwang will lead the charge for Cordillera fighters as they seek win a six-figure ONE Championship contract when Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series (OWS) returns with its seventh stacked live event.

Cordillerans seeing action tonight, August 6 in Singapore are Ismael Bandiwan, Jenelyn Olsim and Dave Banguigui in the stacked fight card and a few of them could be on the cusp of making the jump to the global stage if they can impress the ONE Vice President and his team.

Adiwang, considered as one of the most explosive fighter in the OWS roster will see action in the main event against a highly touted Vietnam’s Anthony Do.

The Team Lakay stalwart established himself as one of the world’s top strawweight prospects when he stunned Manuel Huerta with a first-round knockout last October. His follow-up performance was even better, as Alberto Correia fell to his punches in less than a minute.

The man from Baguio, Philippines competes with the same striking flair as his training partners at Team Lakay, and he seems destined for great things.

However, he will face the toughest test of his career against Do, who trains out of American Kickboxing Academy in California, USA – home to multiple mixed martial arts World Champions.

Do has claimed six of his seven career victories by stoppage, and one more would make a huge statement in his first OWS outing.

Bandiwan, Olsim, and Banguingui wil also try to secure a contract with ONE as they seek impressive victories against their rivals.

Bandiwan will take on Adib Sulaiman in a mixed martial arts strawweight match while Banguigui challenges Alber Correia in another MMA strawweight bout.

Olsim, the lone lady fighter from Bokod, Benguet in the fight card also hopes to advance when she takes on Caitlin McEwen in an MMA women’s strawweight match.
