BTAO forms road clearing task force

The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) has created Task Force Hawan to remove the vehicles that illegally parked in the public roads as well as illegal structures.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Luisito Acebuche, head of BTAO, said Monday, August 5, they already cleared three areas such as the bridge in Barangay 1, Sto. Nino Stop, and the area of Homesite Public Market.

He said they were coordinating with the barangay officials to demolish the illegal structures in the roads and the illegally parked vehicles within their areas of jurisdiction.

“We have our schedule to clear all the areas and to disallow the motorists to park in front of public markets. This is in compliance with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to rid public streets of obstructions,” he added.

Acebuche noted they also removed the stalled vehicles in various barangays with the assistance of the City Legal Office-Enforcement Unit.

BTAO also tapped the assistance of the police stations to remove the illegal structures and illegally parked vehicle within their areas of jurisdiction.

“We are asking the cooperation of the public to avoid penalties and to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the city,” Acebuche said.
