AN INFORMAL association of seven lot owners along the banks of the Iloilo River fronting Tabucan, Mandurriao district is initiating steps to protect the river from informal settlers and illegal fish pens.
The group headed by former Department of Tourism Secretary Narzalina Lim earlier met with Architect Manuel Tingzon, chairman of the Iloilo River Development Council to discuss the project.
Lim said the group wants to be involved in protecting and developing the river as the city’s premier natural tourist attraction and site of livelihood.
Initial members of the concerned informal group include brothers Bobby and Victor Pison, Doctor Alice Saldaña, Ann Saldaña, Ludwig Rieder, Mrs. Adorada Dichupa, Doctor Alfonso Tan and Lim. (Lydia C. Pendon)
