Metafit ready for Ironman 70.3

THE Metafit Tri Team is looking for another strong finish in the Regent Aguila Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines on Aug. 11, 2019 at the Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa in Lapu-Lapu City.

Metafit has also launched the MetaFit Kids Team that will compete in the Alaska Ironkids Philippines on Aug. 10.

“Our aim is to break our personal best. The most important part is we enjoy the race,” said Alan Choachuy during the team’s press conference at the Robinsons Galleria.

The Ironman 70.3 race will cover 1.9-kilometer swim, 90K bike and 21K run.

The Metafit Tri Team is composed of Maui Recla, Jeff Herrera, Pimco Pimentel, Grace Herrera, Cheryl Tagra, Choachuy, Jodette Romaguera, Golda Grace, Fritz Co, Romulo Rosell and Sarah Lucero.

The team will also have an entry in the Alaska Ironkids Philippines, the MetaKids.

The competing kids are Lance Kristoff Pimentel (11 to 12 years old), Matt Arden Impas (relay, swimmer), Glad Constantine Romaguera (11 to 12 years old), Keane Lyle Pimentel (9 to 10 years old), Arden Impas (relay, swimmer), Mabert Leigh Impas (relay, biker), Myr Romaguera (relay, runner), Glad Kornelius Romaguera (5 to 6 years old) and Zarah Fae Co (9 to 10 years old).

“Most of the tri kids are new so we just tell them to enjoy the race and learn for the experience,” said Co.

The 11 to 12 division will cover 300-meter swim, 9K bike and 2K run, the 9 to 10 division will feature 200m swim, 6K bike and 1.5K run, while the 5 to 6 division has 100m swim, 3K bike and 1K run course.

The relay will cover 100m swim, 3K bike and 1K run.

The Ironman 70.3 Philippines is now on its eighth year in Cebu.

The event was first held in Cebu in 2012 after three years stint in Camarines Sur (RSC)
