Converge welcomes City Council probe

CONVERGE ICT Solutions president Dennis Uy said they will welcome the probe conducted by the City Council.

"We will answer and address all the issues raised against Converge," Uy said in a press conference Monday, August 5.

Vice Mayor Vicky Vega Cabigting and Councilor Jay Sangil called for an investigation after receiving numerous complaints of rate increase and poor internet service from consumers of the internet provider.

After the call for probe a few days later, Uy said he immediately ordered his staff to defer the changes in the billing cycle to avoid confusion on the part of the subscribers.

"Status quo muna until our system is fully completed. Kapag ready na yung system namin, we will inform the public when," Uy said.

He said Converge is committed to provide a quality internet service to its subscribers.

Uy also urged their customers to shift to fiber optic to ensure fast internet connection. He saidConverge will not collect migration fees and other charges from subscribers who would upgrade their systems to fiber optic.

"To avoid these issues of service, fiber optic is the answer. Fiber is totally different from old cable connections like copper," Uy said.

He also bared the firm's unlimited internet service worth P500 which benefits low income families.

"I still have a big plan for Pampanga especially in the cable plan area. I'm trying to bring the low income household to reach at P500 internet in the home. That's my target and I encourage my consumer right now those who are connected with P1,350 plan up, they can switch to fiber at no cost," Uy said.
