The Cadiz City Government, led by Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. through the city vet, will be in charge of the maintenance and operation of the center.

Lacson said it will also be an educational center particularly for veterinary students who want to learn more about artificial insemination.

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena said Negros Occidental is one of the leading provinces in the country with the most number of swine backyard producers and more AI laboratory centers will soon be turned over to Himamaylan City, and municipalities of E.B. Magalona and Candoni.

Escalante thanked Lacson for his support and dedication to improve the livestock industry of the province particularly in the Second District where the center is located.

He said more investors are interested in the poultry and livestock production of the province, which will be a big help to the local economy.

Also present in the activity were Second District Board Member Samson Mirhan and city veterinarian Dr. Josue Rabang.

The paravets and hog raisers also received kabir chicks and forage planting materials from the Provincial Veterinary Office as part of the program. (PR)
