Survey: Dabawenyos trust DCPO

DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) has received a high trust rating of 63.7 from Dabawenyos during the City Wide Social Survey (CWSS)-Davao conducted by the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Research.

Based on the survey, 39.0 percent of the responders said that DCPO perform their duties well; they do not perform their duties well (1.9 percent); they do not respect human rights (2.9 percent); they respect human rights (14.8 percent); they are reliable (24.6 percent); I do not trust them (5.9 percent); I trust them (63.7 percent); and I am afraid of them (10.3 percent).

With this development, DCPO director Police Brigadier General Alexander Tagum thanked the Dabawenyos for their trust and confidence towards the policemen of Davao.

“In behalf of the Officers, Men and Women of Davao City Police, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to our people for the support they gave their Police. Indeed, our people is worth dying for. May God bless you always!” Tagum said.

DCPO has earlier reported that a 66 percent decrease of crime rate has been recorded for a period of four years in Davao City at 2,311 in the first half of 2019 as compared to the first semester of 2015 with 6,869 crime volume.

The CWSS-Davao was conducted last June 21–23 and June 28-30, 2019 during a face to face interviews and used Random Sampling ±4, 95 percent level of significance. There were a total of 630 adults in Davao City from three Districts and 11 Sub-districts who responded to the survey.
