GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson said that the merger between the United Negros Alliance (Unega) and Love Negros is being observed in election for vice president of the Philippine Councilor’s League (PCL)-Negros Occidental Chapter.
Lacson said that the common candidate is La Carlota City Councilor Julius Asistio, son of Fourth District Representative Juliet Marie Ferrer.
However, Lacson said the PCL presidency is not covered with the merger as it will be a contest between Sagay City Councilor Arthur Marañon and Silay City Councilor Ryan Gamboa.
Lacson said Love Negros is fully supporting Gamboa while Unega supports Marañon who is the son of former Governor Alfredo Marañon.
The PCL election is set on September 5.
