Globe wins big at Aces awards

GLOBE received the highest honors at the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (Aces) Awards 2019 in the “Top Workplaces in Asia” and “Industry Champion” categories.

The company earned the distinction as the only firm in the history of Aces Awards to win the “Top Workplaces in Asia” three consecutive times—a testament to Globe’s remarkable journey of cultivating a unique culture with a responsible workforce, using technology and human-centered design in the workplace.

The Aces Awards are given to companies in Asia that champion new ideals of leadership: investing in employees and espousing causes that strengthen corporate social responsibility. The award also recognizes the services and achievements of businesses, both large and small, for their contributions to their communities and the world.

“Winning this prestigious award certainly underscores our commitment to our purpose of treating people right to do a ‘Globe of Good.’ We were incredibly successful in building a strong culture of collaboration, agility and innovation to bring out the best in our people. At the same time, (we are) always looking after the ecosystem where we play, especially the communities and stakeholders. We will continue to nurture our unique culture and leverage this advantage for years to come,” said Ernest Cu, Globe president and chief executive officer.

According to Shanggari Balakrishnan, chief executive officer of the MORS Group, Globe has displayed a “wholesome people-centric approach,” highlighting the company’s “various policies and initiatives [that] are fully focused on promoting an exceptional working environment that encourages a harmonious work-life balance.” The awards also lauded Globe’s efforts in responsibility and compassion, and hopes will inspire more organizations in Asia to follow.

Globe has also shown its worth as the country’s leading telco by winning the esteemed “Industry Champion” award. Balakrishnan noted that as a winner of this category, Globe showed its distinct competitive edge and its “ability to evolve its focus along with the dynamic changes of the industry it serves.”

The event was organized by the MORS Group, an organization committed to assisting companies, corporate leaders and eminent industrialists that share a platform to exhibit leadership and sustainability excellence.

The MORS Group hopes that the winning companies inspire more corporations to learn how to engage stakeholders and employees, and embrace a culture of progressive learning. The award and trophy will be presented to Globe at the awards ceremony to be held on Sept. 20, 2019 at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.
