CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A suspected drug pusher was neutralized while eight of his cohorts were also nabbed during a drug bust launched by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon in Angeles City on Wednesday evening.
PDEA-Central Luzon Director Gil Pabilona identified the neutralized suspect only as alias “G-Brown” who, along with his cohorts, allegedly attempted to evade arrest by firing towards the PDEA agents, prompting the latter to retaliate.
The arrested suspects, meanwhile, were identified as Danilo Portit, 32; Crisanto Enriquez, 30; Larry Prado, 38; Grace Pabanil, 48; Mary Rose Miclat, 34; Wendy Velano, 25; Wilbon Ocampo, 45; and Benim Manansala, 27, all residents of Angeles City.
The anti-drug operation also resulted to the discovery of a drug den and seizure of about 10 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with an estimated street value of P68,000, weighing scale, various drug paraphernalia, a cal .38 revolver with live ammunition, and the buy-bust money.
“This high impact operation was the fruit of a month long casing and surveillance. Danilo Portit who is the subject of the operation had been in PDEA’s radar since June 2019,” Pabilona added.
The suspects are now detained in a PDEA Jail Facility at the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center, Barangay Maimpis in this city. Violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002 is being readied for filing in court.
