ORMOC City, Leyte - Gumikan sa nagkadaghan nga mga kaso sa dengue ning siyudad, gipaubos na kini sa state of calamity.
Ang desisyon gianunsyo ni Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez atol sa emergency meeting sa Miyerkules sa gabii, Agusto 7, 2019.
“With alarming increase of dengue cases in Ormoc and with the declaration of the Department of Health for dengue epidemic. The Ormoc City Government came up with resolution declaring state of calamity for dengue in Ormoc City,” matod sa mayor.
Dugang ni Gomez nga tuyo sa deklarasyon aron magamit nila ang 30 porsyento sa calamity fund sa Dakbayan.
“We will be able to purchase more equipment, more chemicals and get hire more people para sa operation sa dengue. Meron tayong naka standby na calamity fund and 30 percent of that we can use pero that is too much. We don’t actually need to use all the 30 percent,” dugang sa mayor.
Naa usab naka-standby nga mga fogging machines sa city health office apan mas gikinahanglan ang larvicide.
Giawhag usab sa mayor ang publiko nga mas maayo nga himuon ang search and destroy sa mga posibleng pangitlogan sa lamok.
Sa Biyernes, Agusto 9, 2019, ipahigayon sa Ormoc ang halapad ug dungan nga search and destroy operation.
Sa talaan sa City Health Office, naa na sa 426 ang ihap sa mga nataptan og dengue sa dakbayan, tulo ang patay. Pero kumpara sa ubang lungsod ug syudad sa Eastern Visayas, mas ubos ang ihap sa mga nataptan ug nakalas sa Ormoc. (JKDP)
