HERALD Pagaduan tucked five gold medals towing University of Baguio to the over-all crown at the close of the athletics competition of the Baguio Benguet Educational Athletic League held recently.
Pagaduan finished first in the 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1,500 meter run then anchored UB to gold medal finishes in the 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay.
“Experience played a big part for our athletes because most of them had national and local exposures,” said UB athletic director Ed Laureano.
UB scored ten gold medals including six silver and six bronze medals to claim the over-all championship in the men’s athletic competition held at the Philippine Sports Commission athletic oval at Teachers Camp.
University of the Cordilleras’ six gold medals including four silver and five bronze medals was good for a second finish in the over-all standing while Saint Louis University had a gold, five silver and three bronze medals for a decent third place finish.
Philippine Military Academy scored one gold, one silver and four bronzes to finish fourth while Cordillera Career Development College finished sixth with a silver.
In the distaff, UB marched to a 12 gold medal output and raised 11 silver and five bronze medals for the over-all championship in the women’s competition.
At far second is UC with six gold medals including five silver and one bronze medal while Saint Louis University had a silver and six bronze medals for the third place over all.
PMA, came in at fourth with one silver and five bronze medal finish. (Roderick Osis)
