TYPHOON Hanna has slightly weakened and is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 a.m. advisory Friday, August 9, 2019.

According to Pagasa, Hanna exited PAR at 12:30 a.m. Friday but heavy rains will continue in some areas.

Typhoon Hanna was located 654 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes, as of 4 a.m. Friday.

Ilocos, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and northern portions of Palawan will experience moderate to heavy monsoon rains.

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy monsoon rains will prevail over Metro Manila, Western Visayas and the rest of Calabarzon, Central Luzon and Mimaropa.

Gusty conditions will continue over most of Luzon and Visayas due to the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

Meanwhile, another typhoon with international name Krosa was estimated at 1, 990 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 190 kph.

Pagasa said Krosa is moving east slowly and is not expected to enter the PAR. (SunStar Philippines)
